Less Miserable Tech is designed to collect as little visitor information as practical. This page explains what the site itself does and what may happen when you choose to use media hosted elsewhere.

Site data

The site does not currently use visitor analytics, advertising trackers, account registration, or marketing cookies. Standard server logs may record technical details such as an IP address, requested page, browser type, and timestamp for security and operational troubleshooting.

External media

Podcast and video links are provided through third-party services. YouTube hosts video, and Captivate hosts podcast audio and subscription services. Those providers may receive technical information and apply their own privacy policies when you follow a link or choose to load their media.

Less Miserable Tech does not load YouTube or Captivate players automatically. Episode pages require a deliberate watch or listen action before connecting you to either service.

Changes and questions

This notice will be updated if the site adds analytics, forms, accounts, or other services that change how visitor data is handled. Effective July 13, 2026.
